What should you do if you find a kitten or puppy?
1. When you find a cat, dog, kitten, or puppy, take it to a veterinarian.
-This will allow us to check the animal's health, age, whether it has a microchip, etc., and give you advice.
2. If it is less than one month old:
-Check the temperature (between 37 and 38°C) with a rectal thermometer. Place them in a warm room without drafts.
-Feed it with suitable formula milk: ask your veterinarian for advice. Do not use cow's milk, which is not suitable for kittens, and be wary of advice found on the internet.
-Keep him clean by wiping his body with a slightly damp, warm cloth.
-Monitor your pet's weight daily. If there is no weight gain or a decrease in weight for more than 2 consecutive days, call your veterinarian.
-After each bottle, take a compress and, using a little warm water, make small circular movements on the baby's genital area to stimulate the urge to urinate or defecate (as a mother would do with her tongue). Also massage the baby's stomach.
3. If it is more than one month old:
Monitor its progress and have it checked by a veterinarian.
